Day 8 AB is looking for a highly experienced Route Manager / Skipper Instructor with a proven, niche background in sailing events (operational management) combined with a strong ability to lead, structure, and train skippers before and during the season.

The role requires you to manage a route operation in a fast-paced environment – while delivering practical, clear training and quality assurance of skipper standards. You should be able to take overall responsibility for coordination, communication, follow-up, and training, as well as drive standardized working methods (SOPs), checklists, and routines that the team can follow.

In practice, this means you can:

lead and coordinate multiple skippers simultaneously (briefings, follow-ups, escalation)
conduct and develop training sessions/coaching (academy, pre-season, ongoing support during operations)
drive SOPs, checklists, and operational standards and ensure the team delivers according to them
identify risks early and ensure that decisions, actions, and logging are done correctly – even when conditions change rapidly
